| Handling animals, taking marketing photos, developing new marketing ideas, and creating pathway plans for the animals - particularly for rescue marketing purposes. Coordinate and enhance animal adoptions through advertising, marketing, planning adoption specials, and events. Using social media and other resources to increase adoptions. Tracking adoption statistics and maintaining files. Attend local adoption. Attend rescue/adoption events on weekends. Coordinate pet transfers with current rescue partners by providing them access to the sheltered animals and associated records. Coordinate the requested medical and behavioral testing requested by rescue partners. Build relationships with new rescue partners after vetting them. Coordinate animal pickup dates and times for rescues. Occasionally transport animals locally. Clerical and office work which would include filing all office paperwork. There are numerous files to organize and some examples would be Adoption and Transferred Animal Forms; these are filed by date at the end of every day. Answering general office emails and phone calls. The public emails us for multiple reasons including: questions about spaying and neutering, adoption animals and questions about filing a complaint. The majority of emails are communications with local rescue groups that we have contracts with. We communicate throughout the day about animals they are interested in saving or any other questions they may have. Perform other similar duties as required. Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort lifting objects and materials (up to 50 pounds), and occasionally heavy objects (up to 100 pounds). Handling animals which includes but is not limited to: grabbing, lifting, walking with, and restraining when necessary. | |
